Cherry Tomato "Gold Nugget".
An abundant harvest of early and incredibly sweet golden cherries!
This compact, early-maturing variety yields a generous crop of golden, slightly oval cherry tomatoes. Thanks to its small bush size, it is excellent for both greenhouses and growing in limited spaces.
Characteristics:
* Plant: Determinate type (compact bush with limited growth), about 60 cm tall. Regular foliage.
* Fruits: Small cherry tomatoes with a slightly oval shape. Weight ranges from 5 to 15 g (averaging about 10 g).
* Color and Texture: Bright golden-yellow color. The flesh is juicy, contains few seeds, and has a sweet, rich flavor.

HISTORICAL REFERENCE:
This variety originated in the United States. It was bred by Dr. James R. Baggett of Oregon State University.

* How to properly save your own seeds from heirloom tomatoes?
Saving high-quality seeds from tomatoes ripened in your own garden is quite simple (NB! Seeds for propagation should only be taken from heirloom/open-pollinated varieties, not from F1 hybrids, as hybrids do not breed true to type (!)). After selecting the most beautiful, typical, and large fruits from the lower branches of the bush, cut each in half and carefully scoop out the pulp with seeds into a bowl or cup. If you look closely, each seed is enveloped in a translucent jelly-like sac (a growth inhibitor). If the seeds are not cleaned of this sac, they may spoil or lose viability.
The seed mass must be diluted halfway with water and left in a warm place for 3-4 days to ferment. At first, the mixture will start to ferment, and then a layer of mold will appear on its surface — this is a sure sign that the protective sac has broken down. Now, you need to thoroughly rinse the seeds several times in clean water through a sieve, discarding any hollow seeds that float to the top, and transfer them to a plate to dry. It is not advisable to use paper towels for this purpose: tomato seeds are slightly fuzzy and will stick permanently to the paper as they dry.
Tomato seeds left in a wet state for too long can germinate, so it is advisable to dry them slightly right away using a cool stream of air (for example, a hairdryer on a cold setting). It is convenient to do this by covering the seeds with cheesecloth so they aren't blown away.
Then, the seeds should be left to dry completely for 10-12 days in a dry, well-ventilated place (but never in direct sunlight). Fully dried seeds are best stored in a breathable cloth or paper bag. Place the bag in a tin or glass jar, close the lid tightly, and store it for the winter in a dark, cool place (around +15 °C).
* Tomatoes are strictly self-pollinating plants with perfect (bisexual) flowers (meaning both female and male reproductive organs — pistil and stamens — are present simultaneously within each flower). Thanks to this, the risk of cross-pollination is minimal, and you can safely plant different tomato varieties next to each other in the garden.
